Q&A

What makes SleekCare's facials different from other spas in New York City?

We designed SleekCare around a simple idea: you shouldn't have to choose between a spa experience and real skincare results. Our estheticians are trained in both advanced clinical techniques and classical facial massage, our product lineup includes professional brands Skinceuticals, IsClinicals, Valmont, etc. Every treatment is fully customized, our estheticians can assess your skin using the advanced skin analysis machine, discuss your concerns and goals. You can start with It's head-to-toe care held to a higher standard.

How do I know which luxury facial is right for me?

If you're new to SleekCare, we recommend starting with a personalized first-visit facial - Sleekcare Esthetician's Choice Facial - so our estheticians can assess your skin in person, discuss your concerns and goals, and recommend the right protocol going forward.

If you already know your skin well, you can book by concern — brightening, anti-aging, deep cleansing, hydration, or acne — and we'll tailor the treatment within that framework. When in doubt, reach out before booking and we'll guide you to the right service.

How long are your facials?

Our luxury facials typically run 60 to 90 minutes, with advanced procedures extending to 90 to 120 minutes depending on the protocol and add-ons. Each appointment can includes extra consultation time, so you're never rushed.

What's the difference between a 90 mins luxury facial and a 60 mins facial?

Our luxury facials are designed to feel indulgent while still delivering real, visible results. We use professional-grade products, clinical techniques like lymphatic drainage and LED therapy, and advanced modalities from Zemits facial machines you won't find in a standard spa.

How often should I get a facial?

For most skin types, every four to six weeks aligns with your skin's natural renewal cycle and keeps results consistent. If you're treating a specific concern — active acne, pigmentation, or pre-event preparation — your esthetician may recommend a closer-spaced series. We'll build a cadence that fits your skin and your schedule during your first visit.

What should I do before my appointment?

Come with clean skin if possible, and skip retinoids, exfoliating acids, and waxing for at least three to five days before your visit, especially if you're booking an advanced treatment and let us know about any recent injectables, sun exposure, or new medications when you arrive so we can adjust the protocol.

Will there be downtime after my facial?

Most of our luxury facials have zero downtime — you can return to your day with glowing, refreshed skin. Advanced procedures involving peels, microneedling, or resurfacing may leave skin pink, tight, or lightly flaking for one to three days. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect and send you home with post-treatment guidance.

Can I wear makeup afterward?

For standard luxury facials, light makeup is fine the same day, though we recommend letting your skin breathe for a few hours to maximize the results. For advanced treatments, we ask that you skip makeup for 24 hours so active ingredients can fully absorb and the skin barrier can recover.

Are your facials suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Every treatment is customized to your skin's tolerance, and we have protocols specifically designed for reactive, rosacea-prone, and compromised skin. Let your esthetician know your history during consultation and we'll adjust products, pressure, and modalities accordingly.

Do you offer add-ons or upgrades?

Most of our facials can be enhanced with targeted add-ons — LED light therapy, dermaplaning, extra extractions, lip treatments, extended massage, and more. You can add these when booking or decide in-spa once your esthetician assesses your skin.
